Colchester Piscatorial Society is one of Colchester's longest established fishing clubs. Our aim is to provide top quality angling to the residents of Colchester and the surrounding areas. We have many waters in the Colchester area, all with a large stock of beautifully conditioned fish and set within exceptionally well kept grounds.

NOTICE 

 BRIDGE AND JUNIORS MATCH THIS SUNDAY HAS BEEN MOVED TO PONDHOUSE. THE WATER WILL REMAIN OPEN, THE CAR PARK SIDE WILL BE FISHED IN THE MATCH, WHOLE LAKE WILL REOPEN 16.00

Work party tomorrow (7TH) has been cancelled on B3,moved the NEXT Sunday 14th July


Fallen tree on Langham 3 has been removed

Work Parties will be on going this year on the first Sunday in the month when possible. Location and dates will be on Work party page. 

There could also be work done on waters at other times, we will try not to interfer with your fishing. Please understand this is voluntary work so done when people have time.

Please beaware of roped off swims at Pondhouse, these are closed due to bank erosion which will be sorted towards end of the year. Pently of other fishable swims. 

Wilf Tolhurst 1st round is on the 4th August, all welcome to fish all proceeds going to The East Anglia's Children's Hospice


The Closed Season no longer applies to Langham Ponds 1,2&3 and Buckbricks 1,2&3.

Pondhouse, Glebe Farm and ALL the CPS stretches of the River Stour will still have a CLOSED season.

No keepnets allowed on any CPS waters during the closed season.

Unhooking Mats must be used at ALL times

Dont forget the Coronation bowl and Hopley Trophy match is coming up on the 28th July ALL welcome, enjoy a good day on Ardleigh Reservoir. 



Please when parking a Langham could you make sure we are able to gain access to container and rack with materials in at ALL times.






 

BB2 Parking

When parking at BB2 please park at right angles to the fence to allow more cars to park there.

BEWARE.

Buckbricks 1. Pegs 1 to 5 are not in use at present due to low water levels and danger of quicksand. DO NOT WADE IN BB1.

Please Note

Please can all anglers ensure that their keepnets and landing nets are thoroughly dried prior to fishing any club waters to eliminate the chance of contamination between waters. Thank you for your co-operation.

Beach Matches We looking to arrange these in the spring before the AGM. Will advise on dates ASAP


BEACH MATCH UPDATE Maximum 2 Rods with 2 hooks per rod. Spare traces can be baited up ready. But maximum of 4 hooks in the water at any one time.
 

 

BAILIFFS

The CPS now has inclub bailiffs that will patrol all waters from now on. So dont forget you club membership card, rod licence and carpark sticker. They will also be on the look out for anyone who should not be on the CPS waters and importantly LITTER. The Bailiffs are:

There is also a new EA Bailift Tom Baird who will checking lakes and river, please make sure you carry membership and Rod Licence at all times. 

PARKING

PLEASE ONLY USE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ON ALL WATERS.

YOU MUST NOT DRIVE DOWN THE HILL TO THE LAKE AT GLEBE FARM. YOU RISK GETTING STUCK AND MAY BE CHARGED TO RECOVER YOUR VEHICLE.

News Flash

Our Membership is now open for the 2019-20 season so if you are looking to become a member print off the application form and send it in to us, these forms can also be found at local tackle shops including Wass's ,  Angling Direct, Radcliffs and Harwich Rd.

We also have a sea angling section within the club with regular boat trips and beach matches. This section needs your support to enable it to carry on. If you don't have tackle or are a novice angler, we are here to help. Just call your saltwater secretary, He is always willing to help if he can (phone number on fixture list) . Hope to hear from you.
